Can I Build A Shipping Container Home (or Studio/ADU) In My City, County, State?
The answer is usually YES! We build all homes and structures according to the International Building Code (IBC) which is almost always universally adopted in the US and Canada and we work with you to find out what specific amendment or special building needs are required. In terms of a studio or ADU some areas have banned them or made it harder to build because they do not want people adding on to their square footage due to short-term-rental restrictions. But, in terms of that way we build, we can definitely meet (and often time exceed) the requirements of almost all building codes.
